Caught – ‘stilL’/ hanging...

Finding Patterns, Finding Music
1994
Following nEither Either botH and (1992-3), Gandini Juggling’s second full-length work was the equally austere and choreographically more complex Caught – ‘stilL’/hanging... (1993-4).

Initially referred to as “piece number three” following the earlier versions of nEither Either botH and, Caught – ‘stilL’/hanging... began from the company’s desire to continue the process of deconstructing juggling. For the initial juggling ‘vocabulary Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkala proposed investigating three-ball multiplexes. As with nEither Either botH and, this vocabulary was extensively fragmented and rearranged inside Gill Clarke’s austere choreography.
